Who is Paul?

NAME: PAUL DABDOUB
LOCATION: SAN DIEGO, CA1751

Once upon a time I was a long-time youth pastor for 3 different megachurches in Louisiana, Florida, & California.  Now I spend most of my time thinking, writing, drinking coffee, being a husband, daddy, and following Jesus (often I do all these things simultaneously since I’ve got mad multi-tasking skills!).  I’m an LSU fan….okay, I’m a HARDCORE LSU fan. 

We live down the street from the ocean – Ocean Beach to be more specific. I walk most days. Attempt to relive my glory days in high school basketball by playing a couple of times a week at the old school OB rec. center.

Last year, I finally wrote my first book in a period of about 8 days. Despite the short period of time in writing and lack of revisions, it’s a pretty good book I think. You can check it out at:

You can frequently catch me speaking around the country for churches and youth conferences. 

My wife, JESSICA is a real hottie while at the same time an absolutely phenomenal woman. She endured and overcome great hardships in life and is an inspiration to many – especially me. She’s a Louisiana girl, loves the country, but prefers the beach; is complex in thought, but simple and generous in the way she lives her life. She watches too many Tyra shows, House, and the Hills – but those are her only vices.

VICTORIA is our oldest at 11. She’s been a teenager for about 5 years now. She’s always been strong willed and complex. She’s a stunning writer and aspires to do some acting.

JADYN is almost 5. She’s a practical joker, loves simple things, can’t wait to start school in the fall, and she’s noticably an athlete. Unfortunately, she’s got my competitive spirit and bad sportsmanship.

As a family, we’re easily the loudest on our street. I talk loud naturally. Our kids are always running around and screaming – mostly at 9pm (Jessica and I don’t understand this, but it’s like clockwork), and Jessica is trying to get it under control because I’m entertained by it all.

We hit the beach at least every other week, and most weeks in the really warm months, and we love to sit around and laugh hysterically at America’s Funniest Videos.

We’re planning on spending the rest of our lives in Ocean Beach. We love the community and are embarking on a missional church plant.
